Pipped to the Post

I HATE! eBay!! I really really do... but I love it at the same time. We have a love-hate relationship and it's all eBay's fault, for being so good but so annoying at the same time. I like eBay.co.uk ... I dislike eBay.com... because believe it or not eBay.com has the best stuff... for cheaper. However, non of them ship overseas which is what makes it sooooooo annoying!! They have all the best stuff but won't send to me. Perfect if you live in the U.S but not if you live in little old England.

That's one thing about eBay... auctions. We all love them; when we win! Auctions do actually take a lot of time, you watch the item, it ends in three days so I set alarms on my phone *auction ending soon* pops up on the day. So I log onto eBay, see where the bidding is... not to much money so I open three tabs. One with the countdown on, and all the bids so I can watch that, One with the bid I'd like to place (I just click on place bid enter my bid but don't click confirm just yet) and another tab open with my budget price so I know not to go above that price.. this is important especially when dealing with a different currency to your own country like I was (again, just click place bid but don't click confirm) then the waiting and watching begins...... the timer is ticking and eventually it will hit a minute left... every ones hands are on their mouses and keyboards; tick, tick, tick. Sweat dripping down the face, the adrenaline starts to kick in and you get all exited; tick tick tick. You look at your first bid and may change it a little bit if someone has bid over; tick tick tick .... then it comes ... 10, 9, 8 Oml!!! the adrenaline is at peak now 7, 6, 5, Mouses hover over the confirm bid button 4, 3, CLICK!! 2, 1.... and guess what? After all that someone else wins the auction ... by 0.20p. Pipped to the Post!!

I much prefer just the 'Buy It Now' options because you know once you've clicked the button... it's yours. Although these come with some risks too... take for example; someone has put something up for auction... but the price is way too high for your budget since people have already been bidding; you inbox them asking if they have anymore which they will be putting up. They say yes! they have one more. Whooop!! You ask them whether you can agree on a price and they put it up as a buy now for you. Yes! they say. So you agree on a price and time to both be online so you can buy it; which is another annoyance because sometimes you both live in different time zones. Take for example, this person was from America and I'm from the United Kingdom. If she told me to be online a 5pm it would actually be 10pm here in the UK; but you've figured it out and you know what time to be on. The time soon rolls round you see your item go up, you click buy now and wwhhaatt?? .... Someone else has beat you to it. The seller now has to send to them as they were the ones who brought it ... then you realise that they only had one left, pipped to the post as us Brits would say...back to the search bar it is.
